Air Stream is the Harley Davidson of travel trailers. When you see one as you passing it on the road you automatically are taken in by the sleek lines and the familiar mirror of the skin.
In Jackson Ohio Air Streams are born through a production line that is ¾ of a mile long. You will find not one robot like what you might at an automotive plant. Piece by piece the trailer comes to life in a sequence laid out and improved upon since the time of Wally Byam in 1929.
A brake controller allows the trailer that a driver is towing to slow down from a traveling speed to a smooth and even stop. The brake controller tells the trailer’s brake system how much braking power is needed to stop the trailer.Thus a brake controller is often an essential tool for those who need to tow.
This is the universal Sign For dump stations.
Almost all trailers will have two holding tanks. The black tanks will hold sewage and grey water tanks will hold waste water from sinks and showers. Always dump the black water tank before the grey water tank so the grey water tank can clean the residue from the hose with soapy water.
A great idea is to wait until your black water tank is half full before dumping. You will get better tank evacuation due to the release pressure will be greater. You might want to think about topping up your holding tanks with water just before dumping. Do not leave the black-water tank valve open when hooked up at a campsite. This will cause the solid waste to be left behind while all of the liquids drain.
A good idea is to use a heavy-duty 6-8 ft long sewer hose to make handling easier. Check and make sure that you have the right size fittings. There is a difference in the fittings due to changes in model types. Always a good idea to attach the fittings to make sure they are what you need before hitting the road.
Make sure to take with you two hoses, One for sewer, and one for fresh water. A good idea is to have two distinct buckets with lids that you can tell apart from the other so that your fresh water hose doesn’t get anywhere close to the sewer or mixed in with the other hose. You will not want to use your fresh water hose if they do due to health issues.
“Pack and use disposable rubber gloves. Learn to remove the gloves without touching the outside – peal them off (inside out) and throw away. Leave the dump station area cleaner than you found it.”
Of course you may already be a pro at dump station sites and that will make the movie with Robin Williams even more hilarious as he essentially goes through a scene of what not do when removing waste from the “RV”. Continue reading »

We have diesel powered mobile high quality air equipment that were designed to clean 747 and other aircraft. We’ve invested in the high grade professional equipment so we can bring the precession of avionics and large footprints of large jet buffing technology, to your personal vehicles.
As you can see we turned, with our Aircraft polishing equipment, proper chemical we could turn an old section of and an extremely pitted trailer, into a newer looking shiny panel, greatly reducing the very large pits. The pits now appear all the way around the panel cleaned, they actually were very pronounced in the panel.
We used both a chemical clean and Gord’s with a soft steel wool we only used Gords in the top right hand corner where the shine is.
On our other section using chemical cleans ans steel wool and our our equipment, please you your steel wool with the grans of Aluminum, like sanding with the gran in woodworking, it will make a difference, you can still see pitting but it’s been greatly reduced for the pitting shown from both above and below our work. The above patch when sealed and then polished will give a great shine.

We rented this nice vintage Airstream trailer in Salem and transported it to Lincoln City at Devil’s Lake campground for us to view Devil’s Lakes speed boat races. As you can see in the above photo it was lovely looking, it’s nice that age treats some thing well. We loved the cherry wood floors inside, they gave it a wow factor, the other insides were very nice but simple and pleasing. When we camp we don’t like the idea that you have to out do everybody especially while on vacation , this was a unique way to stick out of the crowd, but in a simple and elegant Harley Davidson type manor. The comments made by other, once they saw our large over sized mirror was surprising, and the rental rates were very low. It was a very nice and welcome change, we think our parents generation got it right, and it felt cool, in a 1960′s retro style way.
Since we don’t have our own camper and or trailer knowing the high cost to buy one, and we asked ourselves a question, if we put out the big money to buy a trailer- would we ever use it enough? With this question in the back of our minds, this Storage Oregon rental allowed us to attend a special event, in a throw back way with very little damage to our pocket.
Since we had a very large rain shower in the middle of one night, it’s seems to be Oregon custom while camping, it was nice to be sleeping inside with a real roof over your head, and a dry floor under your feet, knowing how much my wife hates tent camping when we received that kind of rainstorm, this was doubly successful.
Thank you Storage Oregon for helping us in providing a unique rental solution yet affordable trip for my family and children.
